Have recently been to your hotel for a spa experience. ☺️ Warm reception at arrival and great customer service from everyone, but especially from Mafalda. Extremely friendly and welcoming…not to mention the massage she gave me. What a professional. Loved all the attention and dedication from everyone. Clearly a 5 ⭐️ experience. Will definitely recommend and return.

Rooms are generously proportioned and comfortable for two people. Located in a quite hilly part of Lisbon. Pleasant view. Room had everything you could want including ironing facilities and umbrella! No air conditioning operating- not until Summer- had to request window be unlocked. Staff generally pleasant. Buffet breakfast okay- some cooked foods not kept at right temperature.

I stayed at the Dom Pedro with friends as part of a film festival in March 2024 and were disappointed. Though the weather was fairly cool, the rooms tend to trap heat. And the staff refused to turn on the air-conditioning to the rooms, despite numerous complaints. Air-conditioning was turned on for the lobby and other public areas, but they consistently refused to turn it on the to rooms, saying it wasn't warm enough outside. Our room was consistently 80F degrees or hotter during the day and never became comfortable at night. In addition, breakfast was not included, though everyone in our group had been promised it would be, as part of the special group rate. The staff refused to budge on this point, despite numerous complaints. Further, the hotel is in a poor location if you want to experience Lisbon. More than a mile from the historic city center, the hotel sits on a large hill that is not served by trains or Metro. So the only really good option is taxi, Uber or Bolt, and those costs add up. You can easily walk down the hill, but walking up is extremely difficult. The hotel food is superb, with two great restaurants. And that's likely why it has received a 5-star rating. But don't let the 5-star rating fool you. This is NOT a good option if you want to experience Lisbon in comfort.

tl;dr: Don't even book here. We suffered without a/c and they refused to turn it on. We stayed for over a week with hundreds of people in our conference. Despite being "winter," there was somewhat of a heat wave. Temps only climbed into the 80s (F), but the rooms were like ovens. Absolutely no air flow. We were suffering and notified the front desk. They had multiple teams come to "fix" our a/c. After days of interminable suffering we finally got them to admit that they don't even have the a/c functioning. It was all "maintenance theater." They were lying to us the whole time. They said that since it was "winter" (March 16-27 was the range we stayed) they have their air system set to heat. I asked them "they why don't you turn off the a/c in the lobby." The receptionist said "oh, we can't do that." Of course not! They don't want to suffer in the heat like they were doing to several hundred of their guests. And it was just our people who were complaining. I heard other tourists complaining as well. It boggles my mind that literally hundreds of people are complaining and they outright refused to fix the issue. Absolutely DO NOT ever stay at this hotel or any Dom Pedro property. Their corporate level decision to torture their guests should be criminal. I hope they go out of business.

We arrived at the Don Pedro at 1130 to drop of our bags to go sight seeing and to our surprise our room was available to check in. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We visited the pool sauna steam room a couple of times which was nice and relaxing. You wear your spa robe from the room to the spa as they are no changing facilities. All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and friendly especially the door men and receptionists. The receptionist gave me a travel adaptor to borrow which I returned on my departure. The hotel is across the road from a lovely shopping centre with a large food court. The bus 711 which is across the road also will bring you down to Praça do Comércio square or also taxis are quite reasonable. I would definitely love to return to the Don Pedro again in the future.
